There is no place I would rather be than on the diamond, even if that means umpiring little league games in my spare time with my dad.
Our entire family loves this game. My dad was a catcher, I'm a catcher and my little brother is a catcher, but I'll play anywhere that will keep me on the field. I also love playing infield and can even pitch, if my coach needs me on the mound.
I also help coach my younger brother's team and give back by doing 1:1 instruction for kids that might need a little extra help.
Baseball is more than a game for me, it's a way of life.
As a catcher, I love being a leader behind the plate and using my voice to keep the team focused. I love being a part of every single play and I always want the ball. I love the dedication, determination and desire that it takes to play this game.
I love baseball, but I also play golf and basketball. I think playing three sports actually makes me a better baseball player. I made the Varsity golf team my freshman year and I took 20-strokes off my score by my sophomore year. Recently, in golf regionals, I scored 85, which was my lowest score on 18 so far. In the winter, basketball helps my endurance and speed. I also simply love that I get to play a sport with my best friends.
I'm proud of my 3.7 GPA and enjoy classes in technology, math and history. I was at a 4.0 my entire Sophomore year. Jefferson Academy High School is an academically rigorous, content-rich educational program and what is known as a college-prep Charter school. I think JA has truly prepared me for higher education and school has always come first.
I'm so thankful to be a part of this community and have been a loyal Jaguar since Kindergarten.
My great-grandma always use to say Faith, Family & Friends are the most important things in life. I agree. I am heavily involved with my church Flatirons in Lafayette, CO, and I go to youth group each week. I volunteer alongside my mom, dad and younger brother at both church and through several non-profits including the Alzheimer's Association and the American Diabetes Association.
I'm passionate about encouraging others and lifting them up in any way that I can on and off the field.
